Microsoft To Retire Anti-Piracy ‘Kill Switch’ in Next Vista Update

Windows Vista Service Pack 1, expected early next year, will change the way the operating system fights against unauthorized installations, Microsoft says. Rather than disabling Vista’s core functionality, the new update will simply nag pirates to purchase a legit copy of the OS at a discounted price.
